***PRICES ARE INDICATIVE AND ARE INTENDED PER SQUARE METER WHEN PURCHASING A MINIMUM OF 2 FULL SLABS (APPROX 10 SQMT) ***

Referred to as "Diaspri di Sicilia" in Italian, "Sicilian Jaspers" are semi-hard rocks which resemble in look and colour their semi-precious (and much harder!) cousins. They occur in a multitude of colours and pattern variations, and with a hardness of approximately 4 on the Mohs scale, they are ideal for a wide variety of uses.

Our Sicilian slabs are usually medium/large size (200cm+ by 100cm+) and vary substantially in pattern and coloration, with the orangy warm tone as the prevalent colour, alongside intrusions of white, red and pink.

Where, along the same vein, the intrusions of red, white and pink become prevalent, and the appearance is more "fragmented" we classify the blocks as "brecciati" - please see our Breccia Pontificia product page for further information.

Within the same quarry, where the block are predominantly white marked with red streaks, we classify the product as Libeccio

Where the stone completely turns to pink we have Marmo Rosa di Sicilia

When the Marmo Rosa shows small intrusions of black in a "spots" pattern, we classify this as Leopardino.
